A Statistical Investigation of Surgery of Otolaryngological Field

Abstract
A Statistical analysis on 781 operated . case (691 Admitted patients) at our clinic during the period of 1 year from Aug- 75 to July 76.
The following results were obtained.
1, The admission rate was 5.1 percent and operate 4. 9 percent of total patients.
2. The highest incidence in age distribution was the second decade (52%) and followed by the third decade (19%) and sex distribution was higher in male (53%) than female (47%)with a ratio 1.4 to1.
3. The highest incidence was observed in Feb. in Monthly distribution and Winter¢¥ in the, seasonal distribution.
4. The operation distribution was as follow
Head and Neck op. 200 cases (25%)
Otologic op. 131 cases (16%)
Plastic and reconstructive op. 60-cases (7.5%)
Endoscopic op. 105 cases (13.1%)
General op. 304 cases (38%)
a: The most frequent op, in Head and Neck field was tracheotomy (34 cases). and followed by Neck node biopsy (28 cases)
b: The most frequent op. in otologic field was tympanoplasty and Mastoidectomy (116 cases) and repair of cleft palate (15 cases)
c: The most frequent op. in plastic and reconstructive field was tracheoplasty (15 cases) and repair of cleft palate (15 cases)
d: The most frequent op. in endoscopic field was laryngoscopy (61 cases) and followed by the Esophagoscopy (42 cases)
e: The most frequent op. in General field was Antrostomy (112 cases).
